Spaces

Established in 1690, the historic Cat & Cage has a number of unique spaces with different themes and capacities that allow us to accommodate parties of any size from 15 up to 200!

We have a series of interlocking spaces that can be hired for parties, set over 2 floors including a unique, Multi-Media / Karaoke Studio on the first floor. It’s the ideal setting for every kind of party or occasion, whether it is a celebration with family & friends or a corporate event.

We have multiple flat screen TV’s and top of the range AV facilities. Need a hand finding or booking a band or DJ? We can do that too!

The Main Lounge

A flexible space for different experiences

The Lounge is designed to be a very elemental experience. Hand crafted wood meets hand crafted concrete table tops; original features meets salvaged items designed to honour the history of the pub. Soft lighting and large communal tables are designed to bring out the more social side of our customers – whether that’s an intimate date for two or a party of twenty two!

The Snug

Something a little cosier

Just inside the front door is the Snug. Positioned along the side of the Lounge Bar, the Snug brings you back in time and hints at the centuries old origins of the pub. When people were shorter and the stories were taller! The height of the bar and chairs are designed to give you a sense of what it might have been like to sit here in 1690.

The Bar

A Traditional Pub Experience

At the heart of the pub is a traditional Bar, a place for the locals to congregate. For groups to gather. For stories to be told, sports to be watched and songs to be sung. The bar at the Cat & Cage is an informal meeting point for the young and old of Drumcondra and much further afield.

As you go up the stairs at the Cat & Cage, you travel back to a dramatic, colourful 1970’s retro experience. A place to chill out with friends…and a drink or two.
